In celebration of the 200th Anniversary of Lincoln’s Birth

abraham-lincoln.jpgCarson City, Nev. — Dr. Michael Green presents the lecture Lincoln and Nevada at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, November 19, as part of the Nevada State Museum’s Frances Humphrey lecture series.  Nevada is the “Battle Born” state, so named for becoming the thirty-sixth state during the Civil War.

Historic Preservation Grants Deadline December 1 Print E-mail

Carson City, Nevada. The application deadline for federal historic preservation grants administered by the State Historic Preservation Office is December 1, 2009.  Grant funding is provided by the National Park Service as part of the Land and Water Conservation Fund and is used to support preservation efforts by governmental agencies and non-profit organizations.

Presentation at Nevada State Railroad Museum

The Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City will host a presentation commemorating the centennial of the Western Pacific Railroad in Nevada on Monday, November 9 at 7:00 p.m.  Admission charges are $4.00 for adults and $3.00 for seniors 65 or older. Children younger than eighteen, and members of the Friends of the Nevada State Railroad Museum are admitted free.
